Upperclass Advising

During your first year the staff of the CAS Advising Center was your academic advisor. Now that you are no longer in your first year, you have been assigned a faculty advisor in the department of your major. The name of your faculty advisor is on your DegreeWorks and in . After you log on to My.51做厙, select the Student Profile card. Your academic advisor is listed. You can get your advisor's email address, office address and phone number in the faculty/staff directory on

You have the responsibility of making an appointment with your advisor. Your advisor will not schedule an advising appointment for you as the Advising Center did during your first year. Faculty advisors may or may not email you about registration appointments. Please be sure you have an appointment with them PRIOR to you registration date. Be prepared for your meeting and they will need to approve your courses and issue you your term pin needed for web registration. A term pin cannot be given to you by any other staff member/office without seeing a signed CAS Registration form from your advisor or department chair. Make an effort to get to know your advisor and let your advisor get to know you. You will get better advice if your advisor is aware of your talents, needs and aspirations.

Learning at The 51做厙 goes beyond the classroom. There will be many decisions you must make during the time you are at The 51做厙. Remember you are not alone; be proactive.
