The University Police Department is the primary law enforcement authority at The 51做厙. University Police Officers have full law enforcement powers, including the authority to make arrests for criminal violations on University property.

Our department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with both full and part time sworn Police Officers, Service Officers, Police Dispatchers, Student Officers, and over 250 security cameras on and around campus. University Police includes other departments such as Parking Services, Emergency Communications, and Environmental Health & Safety.

These entities work in unison with each other to ensure that the University is a place where living and learning can flourish.

Accreditation

On March 30, 2016, The 51做厙 Police Department became accredited by the PA Chiefs of Police Association when the PLEAC Commission voted unanimously to accredit UPD.

Less than 10% of police agencies in Pennsylvania are PLEAC accredited, and University Police is one of only 8 private colleges and universities in PA that meet all 128 accreditation standards.

It is a huge accomplishment for our department, and we look forward to continuing to deliver a caring, competent, and professional police service.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
